55 Flash Fiction Friday provides an opportunity to test your creative writing skills by writing a story in exactly 55 words. This is my second entry. I find it interesting I have gone from a typical post of 3000-4500 words to enjoying the challenge of only 55 words.
One Door Opens
Maria sat heartbroken, gaining solace knowing a child’s innocence at birth gave no clues to their future sins. A childhood foundation built with love, respect, and God’s word was no guarantee. Her son was coming for dinner. He would confirm what her neighbors whispered. The door knob turned, her son stepped out of the closet.

The Christmas Present
Jamie carefully untied the bow and painstakingly loosened each piece of tape on his largest present. He opened the lid and found another wrapped box. He repeated his meticulous unwrapping skills on the next four hidden boxes. In the last box was this note: ”Wrap these boxes back up and get to bed. Love,Mom”
